The vulcanization process of the conveyor belt ensures a tight combination between the rubber of the conveyor belt and other materials, so as to ensure the quality and service life of the conveyor belt. In the vulcanization process, the factors affecting its quality are mainly temperature and pressure control. If the temperature is too high, the rubber will heat up too fast, the internal and external temperature difference is too large, the inner core rubber has not been fully vulcanized, and the outer layer rubber has begun to age. Incomplete, the joint strength cannot meet the requirements.
As for the pressure, generally it should not be lower than 115MPa. If the pressure is low, the rubber inside the joint will not be dense enough with the steel wire rope and the rubber itself, and air and some other volatile substances cannot be discharged, causing the inside of the joint to be like bread and affecting the quality of the joint. For example, in 1996, the belt conveyor of a main shaft of a mine was replaced with a tape. Due to insufficient pressure caused by water leakage from the hydraulic pressure plate at the interface, it was not discovered until the vulcanization was completed. The belt was peeled off after the belt was cooled. There is almost no adhesion, and it can be easily pulled out of the glue. Fortunately, it was discovered in time to avoid a serious accident.

1. Problems that should be paid attention to in the vulcanized joint process of the old conveyor belt
The old conveyor belt has its particularity when it is used as a mouth or the old and new conveyor belts are docked. Because the old conveyor belt has been used for many years, after many bendings, delamination has occurred between the steel wire rope and the rubber, and the galvanized layer of the steel wire rope has also been damaged due to the reaction with various elements in the rubber. Therefore, when vulcanized, the unit strength of the steel rope and rubber will decrease. The only way to deal with this kind of conveyor belt is to increase the overlap length of the joint. The increase depends on the damage degree of the steel wire rope of the conveyor belt. Generally, it is advisable to increase one overlap length.
2. Requirements for the conveyor belt docking center
When the conveyor belts are docked, it is necessary to ensure that the center line is consistent, otherwise not only will the deviation of the conveyor belt be caused when the conveyor belt is running, but also the unevenness of the force on the wire ropes on both sides will be more serious. The short side is stressed too much. When the force exceeds the adhesion of a certain steel wire rope and the conveyor belt, this rope will be pulled out, and then other adjacent ropes will be pulled out one after another in a short time. The connector is broken. If the adhesive force between the steel wire rope and the rubber exceeds the breaking strength of the steel wire rope, then the rope with the greatest force will be broken first, and then other adjacent ropes will be broken or pulled out, respectively. It can be seen that the centerline of the conveyor belt is an important task when the conveyor belt is glued. Therefore, when the conveyor belt is stripped of the wire rope and is ready to be glued, the vulcanizer is first fixed, and a stable platform of no less than 3m is placed on each side in the direction of the conveyor belt. Put the two conveyor belts to be glued on the platforms on their respective sides, and find the centerline of the two conveyor belts (When finding the centerline, find 3 points on each side of the tape and the distance between the two points should not be less than 1m), then align it in a straight line and fix it on the platform. Before preparing to glue, check the centerline again, and adjust in time if there is a problem, so that the conveyor belt after glue can be made.
