Heat-resistant conveyor belts are mainly used in metallurgy, building materials, foundry, coking, chemical and other industries to transport high-temperature solid materials such as sinter, coke, cement, fertilizer, etc, with specified heat resistance. The heat resistance of different heat-resistant conveyor belts is different. So what are the factors that affect the heat resistance?

The heat resistance and service life of the heat-resistant conveyor belt mainly depend on the heat resistance of the cover layer and the core. Generally, rubbers with good heat resistance such as styrene-butadiene rubber, butyl rubber, ethylene-propylene rubber, etc. are used as the main rubber, and the polyester wool and polyester brocade canvas with small heat resistance and heat shrinkage are used as the core.

The heat-resistant conveyor belt is divided into four grades according to the test temperature. T1: test temperature with heat resistance not higher than 100 °C; T2: test temperature with heat resistance not higher than 125 °C; T3: test temperature with heat resistance not higher than 150 °C; T4: test with heat resistance not higher than 175 °C temperature.

Heat-resistant conveyor belts have the same strength and width specifications as conventional conveyor belts. Example of tape marking: 200 1200 EP 5 1000 8+3 T2 indicates that the belt has a length of 200m and a width of 1200mm. The core has a total of five layers of EP canvas, the strength specification is 1000N/mm, and the upper and lower cover layers are 8mm and 3mm respectively. It can heat up to a test temperature of no more than 125 °C. At present, this type of product implements the national standard GB/T 20021-2005 "heat-resistant conveyor belt".

In order to meet the higher use temperature, the conveyor belt manufacturers have also developed a heat-resistant conveyor belt with higher heat resistance and a high-temperature conveyor belt that is resistant to burning. Generally, a flame retardant insulation agent is added to the cover rubber. Anti-ablative agent, thermal conductive agent, etc., to improve the high temperature and anti-ablative performance of the tape.
