Rubber products are widely used in our production and daily lives, but there are specific standards governing them. To ensure the industry continues to thrive, manufacturers are constantly making improvements and optimizations in certain areas.
Currently, several types of adhesive products—such as transparent tape, insulation tape, and sealing tape—are increasingly being packaged using sleeve labels. However, depending on the product’s manufacturing process, many domestic factories still rely on manual labor for both connection and hand-packaging tasks. To address challenges in production cost control and output limitations, there is an urgent need for automated production process solutions. Fortunately, several companies around the world have already developed tailored solutions to meet these specific customer needs.
First, let’s introduce the unique features of this type of product packaging: These products typically come in a cylindrical shape, and after packaging, both the top and bottom are compressed to about 5mm in height. Each item is individually packaged, and fixed-numbered items are labeled either directly on the product or affixed to a round card bearing the brand logo. Despite having the same inner diameter, these products come in a wide range of specifications, while similar products often exhibit larger variations in outer diameter.
The entire design and production process can be broken down into the following steps: First, products are sorted into individual items and fed onto a conveyor line, after which they are transferred into molds via a discharge mechanism. Typically, there are two methods for handling these products: either they’re individually packaged and placed directly into the mold, or, for fixed-quantity packaging, an additional counting device is integrated into the control line to ensure accurate placement. The molds themselves can be easily adjusted to accommodate different product specifications, enabling a single machine to handle multiple product types efficiently—thus reducing customer costs, saving time, and eliminating the hassle of frequent equipment changes while maximizing machine utilization. Due to the uneven shapes and varying outer diameters of the products, the sleeve labeling machine boasts exceptionally high precision. Drawing from years of manufacturing experience, a dual-positioning rail system—already proven effective worldwide—has been specifically developed to perfectly address these challenges, achieving a standard labeling accuracy rate of up to 99.9%. If circular card labels need to be applied, an additional labeling unit is installed on the front side of the sleeve label. Finally, the shrinking process is carried out using electric heat-shrink technology, which is particularly suited to these specialized products. However, electric heat-shrinking is often more difficult to control compared to steam-based methods, as eddy currents can lead to wrinkling and uneven heating. Additionally, given the inconsistent outer diameters of the products, the shrink film must be sized significantly larger than usual—making the shrinking process inherently tricky. To overcome this challenge, a rotary, step-by-step shrinking method is employed, ensuring smooth and reliable results. For material removal, a synchronized feeding mechanism is utilized, providing enhanced stability during the process. Moreover, an automatic alarm system coupled with interlocked controls ensures that the machine can continue operating even in the event of a malfunction, minimizing downtime and maintaining seamless production flow.
Different methods and approaches are all about striving for better outcomes. In fact, analyzing rubber products is also essential, and their standards need to be continuously updated.
